Graduates of the Indiana Beekeeping School are keeping blogs of their beekeeping experiences, and it's being read by people all over the world.

"We've heard from Europe and Asia," said Indiana Beekeeping School founding director Rob Green, "and while some are beekeepers, many are only being beekeepers vicariously by following the exploits of our bloggers."

The ability to keep a diary of thoughts and experiences, rather than technical information, sets the Indiana Beekeeping School apart from other sites on the Internet.

Any graduate of the Indiana Beekeeping School, even those who just completed the class, are eligible to start a diary. In fact, Green is hoping that a new graduate will step up to the challenge. "I can't imagine anything more exciting to our worldwide audience, than to follow someone who has just decided to start beekeeping, and follow the thoughts, dreams and early experiences of the beekeeper, as they set up for the first time," he said.

A Quotation

The bit of good news, whereas almost all of our bee analyses from the 60-90s showed residues of DDT, DDE and other chlorinated  pesticides; the most recent analyses that we've gotten back show a much reduced,  if not complete absence, of many of the most persistent chlorinated chemicals – so it looks like we're finally getting some these out of the bee boxes/frames. That's good news.
